Community Involvement — DBIA

JJH has been a member of the Design Build Institute since 2000. Since that time, JJH has been an active participant in various conferences including Water and Wastewater Treatment and Health Care, and was featured in the September 2003 Design-Build Dateline – Member Profile. (PDF - 2.4 MB)

Design-Build Procurement Act – Senate Bill DB 1497: The Illinois Construction Industry Committee’s Design-Build Subcommittee raised the funds necessary to contract an attorney to author a bill which sets the format of how state agencies can use the design-build delivery method for public projects. JJH’s marketing director, Steve Dalbec, was a member of that subcommittee. Senator Terry Link introduced Senate Bill 1497 – Design-Build Procurement Act in the Senate on February 20, 2003. The Senate passed the bill but, after several late amendments, the bill failed to pass in the House of Representatives.
