Continuing Education / Training

The success of JJH is primarily due to the expertise and commitment of our employees. In order to maintain a well-trained staff, JJH has a full-time trainer on staff for in-house ongoing training. Additionally, JJH encourages employees to further enhance their skill levels through continuing education courses at local colleges or seminars, and the company often sends people to seminars provided by companies like Fred Pryor or Skillpath.

JJH has had all or part of the company participate in off-site training on subjects relating to negotiation with vendors, stress management, and communication, to name a few. JJH reimburses employees for educational expenses (tuition, books, and fees) whenever they take job-related classes.

JJH is also a staunch supporter of the 12-week Dale Carnegie Course. A significant number of employees have taken the course, which focuses on the “Five Drivers of Success” which are: Building Greater Self Confidence, Strengthening People Skills, Enhancing Communication Skills, Developing Leadership Skills and Controlling Worry and Stress. The JJH attendees really stretched their “comfort zones” resulting in numerous awards including: Breakthrough, Outstanding Performance, Human Relations, Crashing Through, Vision and the coveted Highest Award for Achievement.

JJH has also provided a series of concrete educational seminars and was host for the 2002 Design Build Water and Wastewater Conference, which discussed the advantages and concerns encountered using the design-build format.
