individuals for the following positions. The following position is now available:
Estimator
Primary Function: Prepare estimates for projection ranging in size from $1M to $75M. Typical projects include water and waste water treatment plants, medical and government facilities in a nationwide market with an emphasis on projects in the greater Chicagoland area and Great Falls, Montana markets.
Typical Duties:
- Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
- Develop subcontract bid list for projects.
- Develop relationships with new subcontractors.
- Perform quantity take-offs for self performed and other work: typically excavation, site utilities, concrete, carpentry, misc metals, drywall and millwright.
- Obtain pricing for all material and equipment to perform own work.
- Use past job cost reports and other historical data to assemble quantity take-offs.
- Meet with Director of Labor weekly to discuss production for on-going projects.
- Work closely with subcontractors.
- Work closely with the design build and preconstruction services personnel to develop conceptual estimates.
- Preliminary project scheduling utilizing Primavera scheduling.
- Meeting with project management team for job hand off.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Five plus years construction estimating experience.
- Proficient in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision when estimating a small to medium sized project.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Construction or Engineering related BS Degree.

Project Manager
Primary Function: Plan, direct and coordinate all activities concerned with a construction project. Oversee project organization, scheduling, implementation and close out from the job site. Typical projects include water and waste water treatment plants, medical and government facilities in a nationwide market with an emphasis on projects in the greater Chicagoland area and Great Falls, Montana markets.
Typical Duties:
- Review of project estimate and project documents including contracts, drawings specifications, addendum and the like.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with owner, A/E contacts, vendors and subcontractors.
- Monitor and control of immediate and overall project schedule.
- Represent the company in project meetings and negotiations.
- Manage the contracting and purchase of materials and services including approval of invoices for labor and material.
- Prepare and present pay applications and necessary documentation through coordination with project accountant in a timely manner.
- Manage field labor and productivity with the help of on site superintendent.
- Prepare proposed change orders and requests for cost proposals; maintain appropriate documentation and control of this risk.
- Manage the submittal process for self performed and contracted work.
- Risk management in all facets of project management including job safety.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Five plus years project management experience with a general contractor.
- Proficient in basic computer operations. Experience with
Timberline Project Manager (PJ) a plus. Primavera scheduling experience preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven experience and judgment.
- Construction or Engineering related BS Degree.
