| Description: |
JJH worked on the second phase of the first ever joint contracting effort between NAVFAC Midwest and the VA. The project consisted of phased demolition and construction of four floors of an existing/operational VA hospital. All hospital functions remained live during construction.
Construction included new common areas, conference rooms and lounge areas, washroom facilities, dental and medical services facilities, examination rooms, and administrative offices. Specialized features were dental/medical equipment installation, medical gas installations, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, security and fire alarm/protection system, and various interior finishes.
Through precise scheduling/sequencing and careful coordination with the Owner and other contractors, maximum safety standards were maintained with minimal disruption to VA operations.
