| Description: |
This water reclamation center (WRC) is designed
to treat 6.5 million gallons of wastewater each day. Approximately
80 percent of the wastewater flow is from the residential area on
the west side of the village, and the remaining flow is from the
industrial and commercial district on the east side. The WRC consists
of two sets of screw pumps, aeration tank, aerobic digesters, secondary
clarifiers, sand filters, chemical feed equipment, and two, two-meter
belt filter presses with a cake discharge to an inclined belt conveyor
system that discharges into a truck loading system. In 2000, two
additional secondary clarifiers, 85 feet in diameter, were constructed,
doubling the total settling capacity of the activated sludge system.
In 2003, the plant again expanded and improved, adding additional
aeration tanks, aeration blowers and aerobic digesters.
