Developer Ryland Homes and the Village of Gilberts chose the design-build format for their infrastructure improvements for the advantages of shorter project schedules and cost-effectiveness, while maintaining a high quality project. The project consisted of two new deep wells, each pumping 1,000 gallons per minute (gpm), a 750,000 gallon elevated water storage tank, a 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) water treatment facility with a barium and hydrogen sulfide removal system, and one MGD wastewater treatment facility.
