Training

The safety coordinator is in charge of the monthly Operations/Safety Training meetings which are mandatory for all office personnel and field superintendents. He frequently chooses a meeting topic that coincides with what is currently needed at the jobsites. Some of the areas covered include fall protection, proper scaffold erection, trench safety and working in confined spaces, safe use of ladders, scaffolds, personal protective equipment, seasonal safety issues, protection from falling objects, and CPR with basic first aid. All Superintendents receive comprehensive training, including OSHA training/certification assisted by Lake County Contractors Association and the Chicago Land Construction Safety Council, which help maintain a safe jobsite.
