PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas Wastewater Treatment Plant project is a $30,700,000 contract completed by Joseph J. Henderson & Son Inc. Work includes substantial upgrades to an existing domestic and industrial wastewater treatment facility.

JJ Henderson managed a slab pour totaling 1,210 cubic yards of concrete placement. This task was accomplished with the assistance of the Naval Air Station Construction Management team. They expertly coordinated crane and pump truck operations via Air Operations to get FAA Airfield Waiver approval to place the two separate 605 cubic yards of concrete placement. The coordination efforts required extensive coordination between Air Ops, FAA, and Security. Coordination with Base Security proved to be vitally important to get 67 Transit Mixer trucks delivered every 10 to 15 minutes until the placement was complete per placement. The coordination and detailed efforts of the entire team proved to be very successful and executed extremely well.
